Paola Barra, University of Naples Parthenope (Italy)
Paola Barra is a Tenured Researcher at the Department of Science and Technology, "Parthenope" University of Naples. She held her Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2021 from the University of Salerno and her M.S. degree from the University of Pisa in "Computer Science for Economics and Business" on data analysis and big data in 2017. She has participated in several conferences (CVPR, ICIAP, CV-CMEM) and journals (e.g., IMAVIS, ESWA, SOCO, JAIHC, MTA, IEEE TIP, PRL). Her research interests include machine learning techniques for solving problems using computer vision, such as facial and gait recognition, action recognition, tumor detection, and image segmentation for garbage detection and fresco reconstruction. In addition, she is interested in natural language processing and human-computer interaction. She is also a member of GIRPR/IAPR and GRIN. Since 2018, she has been organizing seminars on the topics of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, first at the University of Salerno and then at the University of Naples "Parthenope," for the purpose of science popularization and to get students (and non-students) interested in this branch of computer science.
Andrea Antonio Cantone, University of Salerno (Italy)
