To be admitted to the Master's Degree Course, the student must have a three-year Laurea Degree (including that obtained according to the legislation in force prior to Italian Ministerial Decree 509/1999 and subsequent amendments and additions) or a three-year university diploma, or other qualification obtained abroad, suitable in accordance with current legislation and of EQF6 level.
For foreign students the qualification obtained abroad is verified by the Teaching Council of the Master Deegree course.
Admission to the master's degree course is also subject to possession of:
a) Curricular requirements
at least 45 ECTS in the scientific-disciplinary sectors of the fields of Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics and Physics and Chemistry which outline the basic educational activities of both the italian degree class in Industrial and in Information Engineering (i.e. according to the italian legislation, INF/01 - Computer science; ING-INF/05 - Information processing systems; MAT/02 - Algebra; MAT/03 - Geometry; MAT/05 - Mathematical analysis; MAT/06 - Probability and mathematical statistics; MAT/07 - Mathematical physics ; MAT/08 - Numerical analysis; MAT/09 - Operational research; SECS-S/02 - Statistics for experimental and technological research; CHIM/07 - Chemical foundations of technologies; FIS/01 - Experimental physics; FIS/03 - Physics of the matter)
at least 45 ECTS in the scientific-disciplinary sectors characterizing italian Industrial Engineering (L-9) or Information Engineering (L-8) Laurea degree, of which at least 6 credits in the SSD of the disciplinary area of Electrical Engineering (i.e. according to italian legislation, ING-IND /31 - Electrical engineering; ING-IND/32 - Electrical converters, machines and drives; ING-IND/33 - Electrical energy systems; ING-INF/07 - Electrical and electronic measurements)
The curricular requirements are verified by the Academic Council of the Master Deegree course through the examination of the previous university career.
In the event that the aforementioned curricular requirements are not satisfied, the Academic Council indicates the training activities necessary to integrate the curriculum and the related acquisition methods. These curricular additions must be acquired by the student before verifying individual preparation.
b) Adequate personal training
The adequacy of personal preparation is verified through an admission test, the contents and methods of carrying out which are in a specific Regulation and made public on the WEB site of the Department of Information and Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics (www.diem.unisa .it). In particular, the adequacy of personal preparation is assessed through an interview or a verification test which is carried out at least twice a year according to a calendar approved by the Academic Council and made known via the Department's website with a Commission appointed by the Academic Council. The test focuses on the disciplines indicated in a Syllabus attached to the aforementioned Regulation.
Any additional requirements established by the teaching structure are also disclosed on the Department's website which, if possessed by the student, give rise to exemption from the verification test.
c) Adequate knowledge of the English language
In order to be admitted to the master's degree course, the possession of an adequate knowledge of the English language is also required. The minimum required level of knowledge of the English language is Level B2 defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR).
