AVI 2020

International Conference on Advanced Visual Interfaces

Island of Ischia, Italy

September 28 - October 2, 2020

AVI 2020

Since 1992, AVI has been a biennial appointment for a wide international community of experts with a broad range of backgrounds. Through out more than two decades, the Conference has attracted leading researchers of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) from all over the world, offering a forum to present and disseminate new technological results, paradigms and visions for HCI and user interfaces. Because of advanced technology and new possibilities for user interaction, AVI has broadened the topics it covers, still keeping its main focus on the conception, design, implementation and evaluation of novel visual interfaces.

While rooted in Italy, AVI is a true international conference with respect to nationality of participants, authors of papers and program committee members. The mixture of carefully selected research contributions paired with cordial Italian hospitality creates a unique conference atmosphere, which has made AVI an internationally recognized brand.

AVI 2020, like previous editions, is in cooperation with ACM, ACM SIGCHI, ACM SIGMM and ACM SIGWEB. The conference proceedings will be published by ACM Press and available in the ACM Digital Library.

AVI Conference Code of Conduct abides by ACM Code of Ethics and Policy against Harassment.

Update on AVI 2020 in relation to Covid-19 (Coronavirus)

Based on the currently dramatic situation resulting from the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, AVI 2020 has been postponed until September 28 – October 2, 2020.

We are optimistic that the Conference as well as the associated Workshops can be held at that time. We therefore continue its preparation and we warmly encourage the scientific community to keep preparing for the planned exchange of ideas and constructive discussions that have always distinguished the International Conference on Advanced Visual Interfaces, as well as for the associated social program, which this year will take place in the spectacular scenario of Lacco Ameno of Ischia.

Of course, we are following updates about the situation from the World Health Organisation (WHO) https://www.who.int/ and from the Italian Civil Protection http://www.protezionecivile.gov.it/home and will keep the AVI scientific community informed accordingly.
