Director

Leonardo Baglioni is an architect and Associate Professor in Drawing (CEAR10/A) at Sapienza University of Rome, where he teaches Drawing and Descriptive Geometry. His research focuses on descriptive geometry, its history and applications, with emphasis on digital methods for form analysis, parametric modeling, and innovation in representation processes. He has led several research projects, published extensively, and presented at international conferences. He is coordinator of the Research Unit ForMaRe (Form Design, Manufacturing & Research) at DSDRA Department.

Deputy Director

Michele Calvano is a Tenure Track Researcher at Sapienza University of Rome (DSDRA), working in the field of architectural representation and digital modeling. He holds a PhD in Representation Sciences and focuses on parametric and mathematical modeling, Visual Programming Languages (VPL), and reverse modeling from point clouds to NURBS. His research also explores HBIM and the integration of diagnostic data for heritage conservation, alongside recent studies on AI-driven geometric processes and digital fabrication.

Teachers

Marta Salvatore, Architect and PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Department of History, Representation and Restoration of Architecture at Sapienza University of Rome. Her research focuses on representation disciplines, with particular attention to descriptive geometry, its theoretical foundations, and applications, in relation to their historical development and innovative potential. Her studies explore the evolution of geometric thought and the role of geometric-descriptive theories in the generative processes of architectural form in both historical and contemporary contexts.

Mostafa Rabea is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Built Environment, Beirut Arab University (Lebanon). His research focuses on computational and parametric design, digital fabrication, architectural engineering, biomimetic architecture and sustainable building technologies. He combines academic research with professional practice, leading design studios and interdisciplinary projects while promoting innovative digital workflows for architectural design and education

Roberto Cognoli is an architect, PhD, Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor at the University of Camerino. He is co-founder and CEO of Centauroos, a startup working on large-scale 3D concrete printing with recycled aggregates. His work focuses on computational design, digital and robotic fabrication, and data-driven methods for circular, sustainable and climate-adaptive construction.

Rosa Maria Marta Caruso is an architect and a Ph.D. in History of Architecture. She graduated from the University of Catania in 2018 and completed her Ph.D. at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 2023. In 2024, she was awarded the "Gianni Franzone" scholarship at the Wolfsoniana in Genoa - Palazzo Ducale. The following year, in 2025, she won the third edition of the Mendrisio Prize - Archivio del Moderno. From 2024 to 2026, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at Politecnico di Torino. Her academic interests center on the history of architecture and construction in the 20th century.

Specialised in parametric design, digital craftsmanship and 3D printed concrete. Leads high-end residential, retail and collectible design projects across Europe and Middle East. Focus on material research, sustainability and advanced technologies.
