Solid Math 2024
July 30th - August 1st 2024
Tübingen, Germany
A view of the waterfront of Tübingen
The 2024 edition of the Solid Math conference series is going to be the 6th iteration, and will take place in Tübingen, Germany, from July 30th until August 1st, both dates included.
The aim of the conference is to present the latest developments and mathematical challenges coming from the realm of condensed matter physics, involving methods from mathematical quantum theory, operator algebras, geometry and numerical simulations in an interdisciplinary and stimulating environment.
Topics to be covered in the workshop include, but are not limited to,
quantum transport in periodic and aperiodic solids;
topological effects in condensed matter;
numerical schemes for quantum chemistry and density functional theory;
effective equations for interacting states of quantum matter.
With this in mind, the planning of the conference will be done with a threefold aim:
to encourage the exchange of ideas and methods between active researchers in the field;
to disseminate the recent results and techniques, making them accessible, by informal talks, to Ph.D. students and young post-doc fellows;
to communicate recent mathematical and numerical advances to the theoretical physics community, and vice versa.
