Call for papers (2024)

The Ph.D. in Economics of Sapienza University organizes the 4th Sailing the Macro Workshop that will be held at the Ortygia Foundation in Ortygia, Siracusa, Italy, on 6-8 September 2024. Reflecting the breadth of modern macroeconomics, the scope of relevant topics is broad, ranging from theoretical work to empirical applications.

Call for papers and participation

Please submit your paper via email to smw.dipecodir@uniroma1.it as a single PDF file, with the subject line "Sailing the Macro 2024 - Submission" 


The deadline for submissions is 12 CET on 5 May 2024. Late submissions will not be considered. All submitted papers will undergo a rigorous review process by the conference committee. Authors will be notified of the acceptance by the end of May 2024.



Program. The morning sessions will take place from 9.00 am until around 1:30 pm. Presentations will last 30 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session. The afternoons will be dedicated to sailing. Conference participants will be able to join sailing courses organized by the Ortygia Sailing School.

The workshop is organized by Sapienza University’s Ph.D. in Economics (Department of Economics and Law) and the Department of Social Science and Economics in collaboration with  the Ortygia Foundation
