Rodolfo Araneo was born in Rome in 1975. He received a Master's degree (five years) with honors in Electrical Engineering in 1999 and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering - Electrical Engineering Address in 2002, both from the University of Rome "La Sapienza." He is currently a Full Professor, formerly a University Researcher from January 2004 to October 2015 and Associate Professor from November 2015 to August 2021, at the Department of Astronautical, Electrical and Energy Engineering (DIAEE), the University of Rome "La Sapienza". He is a lecturer in the areas of electrical engineering and renewable energy.
R. Araneo's research activities mainly concern issues of electromagnetic shielding, transmission lines, printed circuits, numerical methods for electromagnetic fields, exposure to electromagnetic fields, nanostructures in Zinc Oxide, characterization of micro- and nano-structures in graphene, energy communities, generation systems from renewable sources, management logics of smart-grids, virtual power plants and energy communities.
R. Araneo is IEEE Senior Member and ACES Fellow. During his research activity, he has published more than 220 papers, including numerous articles in international journals, invited book chapters, international conference proceedings, and conference abstracts.
He is the author of several volumes:
Celozzi, R. Araneo, G. Lovat, Electromagnetic Shielding, John Wiley & Sons;
R. Araneo and M. Mitolo, Electrical Safety Engineering of Renewable Energy Systems, John Wiley & Sons;
R. Araneo (editor), Advanced Time Domain Modelling for Electrical Engineering, The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET);
