Full professor of electromagnetic fields
Università degli studi di Roma "La Sapienza",
He is a Telecommunication engineer.
Since 2024, he has been Full professor of electromagnetics at Sapienza University of Rome.
Since 2018, he has been Associate professor in electromagnetic fields with the Universita` degli Studi di Napoli “Parthenope”.
From 2010 to 2018, he was Assistant professor in electromagnetic fields with the Universita` degli Studi di Napoli “Parthenope”.
From 2013 to 2017, he has been guest professor with the Shanghai Ocean University, College of Marine Science, Shanghai, China.
He is the author/coauthor of more than 100 peer-reviewed journal papers (> 50 published by IEEE) and > 130 refereed conference papers. His research activity mainly focuses on microwave remote sensing, covering both theoretical aspects (e.g.; multi-polarization scattering from rough surfaces, radar polarimetry, bistatic scattering, inverse problems) and applications (e.g.; marine and maritime applications including oil spills/ship detection, sea surface wind estimation and typhoon observation, and coastline extraction, land classification, crop phenology estimation, detection of damages due to earthquakes, spatial resolution enhancement of radiometer products, generation of radar image from Global Navigation Satellite System Reflectometry (GNSS-R) measurements. His expertise includes both active (Synthetic Aperture Radar) and passive (radiometer) microwave instruments and the exploitation of signals of opportunity for microwave remote sensing purposes (GNSS-R).
Dr. Nunziata has been IEEE Senior Member since 2014 and he has been in the organising committee of several conferences focused on remote sensing including the Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society GRSS faghisp IGARSS Conference.
