Sono Nicola Cucari, dottore di ricerca in Business Management presso la Facoltà di Economia della Sapienza Università di Roma, dove oggi sono Professore Associato e insegno Imprenditorialità & Startup. Dal novembre 2023 sono anche abilitato al ruolo di Professore Ordinario in Economia e Gestione delle Imprese. 

Il mio impegno nella ricerca è stato riconosciuto a livello internazionale: sono stato inserito nella prestigiosa lista dei World’s Top 2% Scientists, il ranking della Stanford University che individua, sulla base dei dati bibliometrici Scopus, i ricercatori più citati al mondo (2024, 2025). Inoltre, sono incluso nella Top 7% Authors (Last 10 Years Publications) di RePEc, la rete internazionale che diffonde la ricerca economica.

Dal 2024 al 2027 sono Junior Research Fellow della Classe Accademica di Scienze Giuridiche, Politiche, Economiche e Sociali presso la Scuola Superiore di Studi Avanzati della Sapienza. Ho avuto l’opportunità di maturare esperienze internazionali come Visiting Professor al College of Business della Northern Illinois University di Chicago, Visiting Scholar alla Schulich School of Business della York University di Toronto e Visiting Research Fellow all’Institute of Marketing & Management dell’Università di Hohenheim, a Stoccarda.

Nel corso della mia carriera ho partecipato a numerose conferenze internazionali e nazionali e ho pubblicato i miei studi su riviste scientifiche di rilievo internazionale. Attualmente sono Editor in Chief di International Journal Business Governance and Ethics e Associate Editor di Business Strategy and the Environment, Total Quality Management & Business Excellence e Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, oltre a far parte dei comitati editoriali di altre riviste accademiche.

Sono membro di associazioni scientifiche e professionali di prestigio, tra cui l’European Corporate Governance Institute, l’Academy of Management, l’European Academy of Management e la Società Italiana di Management.

Nel tempo ho ricevuto diversi premi e riconoscimenti, come il premio per Miglior Dottorando nel 2017, il Minerva Award nel 2021 come miglior dottore di ricerca conferito dalla Fondazione Roma Sapienza, e vari best e selected paper alle principali conferenze di management, tra cui Academy of Management, European Academy of Management e Sinergie SIMA Management Conference.

Ho partecipato come Principal Investigator o membro di team a numerosi progetti di ricerca, e attualmente sono Co-Principal Investigator di un Progetto di Ricerca di Interesse Nazionale (PRIN 2022).

In ambito accademico, ricopro diversi ruoli di responsabilità: sono Delegato al Percorso di Eccellenza del Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Management delle Imprese, membro della Commissione Qualità e della Commissione Ricerca del Dipartimento, Co-Coordinatore della Commissione Terza Missione e membro del Collegio del Dottorato.

I am Nicola Cucari, Ph.D. in Business Management from the Faculty of Economics at Sapienza University of Rome, where I currently serve as an Associate Professor and teach Entrepreneurship & Startup. Since November 2023, I have also been qualified as Full Professor in Business Administration.

My research commitment has been internationally recognized: I have been included in the prestigious World’s Top 2% Scientists list, the ranking compiled by Stanford University that, based on Scopus bibliometric data, identifies the world’s most cited scholars (2024, 2025). In addition, I am ranked among the Top 7% Authors (Last 10 Years Publications) in RePEc, the international network that disseminates economic research.

From 2024 to 2027, I serve as Junior Research Fellow of the Academic Class of Legal, Political, Economic and Social Sciences at the School for Advanced Studies of Sapienza University. I have gained valuable international experience as Visiting Professor at the College of Business of Northern Illinois University (Chicago, USA), Visiting Scholar at the Schulich School of Business, York University (Toronto, Canada), and Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute of Marketing & Management, University of Hohenheim (Stuttgart, Germany).

Throughout my career, I have participated in numerous international and national conferences and published my research in leading international academic journals. I currently serve as Editor in Chief for International Journal Business Governance and Ethics and as Associate Editor for Business Strategy and the Environment, Total Quality Management & Business Excellence, and Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, and I am also a member of the editorial boards of other academic journals.

I am an active member of prestigious academic and professional associations, including the European Corporate Governance Institute, the Academy of Management, the European Academy of Management, and the Italian Society of Management.

Over the years, I have received several awards and recognitions, including the Best Ph.D. Student Award in 2017, the Minerva Award in 2021 as Best Ph.D. Graduate conferred by the Roma Sapienza Foundation, as well as multiple Best Paper and Selected Paper awards at major international and national management conferences, such as the Academy of Management, the European Academy of Management, and the Sinergie SIMA Management Conference.

I have served as Principal Investigator or team member in several research projects, and I am currently Co-Principal Investigator in a National Research Project of Relevant Interest (PRIN 2022).

Within the academic context, I hold several leadership and service roles: Delegate for the Excellence Program in the Master’s Degree in Business Management, member of the Department’s Quality Committee and Research Committee, Co-Coordinator of the Third Mission Committee, and member of the Doctoral College.
