Cagliari is getting more and more connections with major European cities. Check here to find the most convenient airport for reaching Cagliari from your city.
Cagliari city center is easily reachable from the airport by a 6-minute train ride, with departures every 20 minutes (05:00 – 21:00) and tickets costing just €1.30, available at the station or via the Trenitalia website.
By Taxi: once at the airport, you can take a taxi: they are just outside the airport. There is a fixed cost depending on your destination; for example, for Hotel Italia, Hotel Carlo Felice, Hotel Regina Margherita the cost is around 20€ (23€ on Sundays). If you need a taxi in any other moment, you can call the number 0706655 or download the app itTaxi.
By Train: you can purchase a ticket from the vending machines at the airport, or from the Trenitalia website or app. The cost is 1.30€, the train leave every 20 minutes and take 6 minutes to reach the rail station. From ther, it is just 6 minutes walk for Hotel Italia, 9 minutes walk for Hotel Carlo Felice, and 14 minutes walk for Hotel Regina Margherita (in this last case, especially during the warmest hours, I suggest using a taxi or a bus; for the public transport, use the APP CTM Cagliari)
From Hotel Regina Margherita: 20 minutes walk, or 15 minutes by bus (n. 6 or 10; you can also walk to the other hotels and take bus 8)
From Hotel Italia: 18 minutes walk, or 8 minutes by bus (n. 8)
From Hotel Carlo Felice: 12 minutes walk, or 7 minutes by bus (n.8)
The easiest way to buy bus tickets is through the APP CTM Cagliari.
N.B. The walking route is entirely within the city centre, but be aware that the final part is quite steep.
