Beyond Calabi–Yau 3-folds

This page collects informations about the project FIS-2023-0395 Beyond Calabi–Yau 3-folds funded by Fondo Italiano per la Scienza - Bando FIS2.

The research project aims to study aspects of the geometry of manifolds with special holonomy and related spaces. The project focuses on manifolds with exceptional holonomy G2 and Spin7 and special metrics in non-Kähler Hermitian geometry, studied through systems of equations (IIA, IIB and heterotic systems and their generalisations) arising in theoretical physics.

The projects funds various PhD and postdocs positions.

The deadline for applications is August 29, 2025. Positions are expected to start in late Fall 2025/beginning of 2026 and last two years with a possibility of an extension.
