This two-day International Conference on European Industrial Policy in the New Global Context, co-organised by the Luiss Institute for European Analysis and Policy and Sapienza University of Rome brings together renowned academics, policymakers and industry leaders to discuss the EU's role in critical value chains and the importance of industrial policy for strengthening technological and productive capacities.

Date: 6-10 May, 2024
Place: Facility of Economics, Sapienza University of Rome
Delivered in English, the course covers a wide range of topics, including innovation, artificial intelligence, growth, global value chains and structural change. It integrates theoretical lectures with presentations of empirical research and practical sessions using STATA software.
This year, the course also features the presentation of Giovanni Dosi's book The Foundations of Complex Evolving Economies.
The deadline for applications is 1 April 2024. Early bird applications by 10 March 2024 will be considered for partial YSI scholarships.

Organised by the Department of Economics and Law of Sapienza University of Rome, jointly with Dezernat Zukunft – Institute for Macrofinance, Fondazione Brodolini and the Italian Economic Association (SIE).
This workshop aims to bring together experts and researchers from academia, research institutions, industry and policy-making, to discuss the more pressing challenges in the context of the green energy transition and the role of industrial policy in accelerating it. It will feature a keynote speech by Adam Tooze (Columbia University), who will discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Europe in the new global context.
