Associate Professor in Solid and Structural Mechanics. Degree in Electronic Engineering and PhD in Structural Engineering from Sapienza. He was Lecturer in Composite Materials Engineering at the University of Bristol and at the same university he taught for the PhD School in Advanced Composites of the Bristol Composite Institute (formerly ACCIS). He was Visiting Researcher at the Department of Aerospace Engineering of the University of Bristol. He is a founding member of the university spin-off Diamonds operating in the filed of diagnostics and structural health monitoring.
His research interests include: the linear and nonlinear theory of elasticity and viscoelasticity with applications to polymers, composite and nano-composite materials and fiber-reinforced materials. He is also involved in structural identification and monitoring. He was the 2012 recipient of the Sapienza prize for the best PhD dissertation in Engineering and is the author of the monograph "An introduction to Nonlinear Viscoelasticity of Filled-Rubber" published by Sapienza Editrice.
