I am currently a second-year Ph.D. student funded by PNRR, specializing in Data Science in the area of Mathematical and Computer Sciences at the Department of Computer, Automatic, and Management Engineering 'Antonio Ruberti' at the Sapienza University of Rome, under the guidance of Professor Fabrizio Silvestri (@fabreetseo). My research encompasses various aspects of Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence with a special focus on optimization and robustness of diverse deep-learning methods. My work, in particular, is based on the dedicated exploration of the impact of noisy training data on the robustness of deep learning methods. I am specifically interested in scrutinizing loss functions and developing novel, tailored, robust alternatives. In addition, my research extends to other areas of deep learning, including Graph Neural Networks and Computer Vision. My keen interest in Computer Vision drives me to explore the integration of different AI, machine learning, and robotics techniques within this domain. I am particularly interested in exploring how deep-learning models learn.
From Kashmir to Rome
A Journey of Academic Excellence and Professional Growth
Growing up amidst the breathtaking beauty of Indian-administered Kashmir, my childhood was painted with the vibrant colors of a remote rural village. It was in this idyllic setting that my educational journey began, attending a local private institution where I laid the groundwork for my future endeavors. Driven by a hunger for knowledge and a desire for greater opportunities, I made the leap to a nearby town for my high school years. Recognized for my academic prowess, I convinced my hesitant parents to support my move to a bustling city school for my final two years of schooling. Here, I immersed myself in intensive coaching for engineering entrance exams, fueling my aspirations for a career in the field. In 2012, my hard work paid off as I triumphantly cleared the AIEEE, now known as JEE-MAIN, a prestigious milestone on my journey. This achievement opened the doors to one of India's top engineering colleges, where I pursued a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology. Launching into the professional world, I found myself at the research center of General Electric (GE) in Bangalore, where I delved into the realm of data science for four enriching years. But my thirst for knowledge was unquenchable, leading me to Italy in pursuit of mastery in AI and Robotics. Enrolling in a Master's program, I seamlessly transitioned into a Ph.D. endeavor, embracing the challenges and opportunities that came my way. Along this path, adorned with accolades and prizes, I've come to cherish the invaluable treasures of wisdom and experience gained along the way.
