Main teaching duties of prof. Bernardini are related to the following two courses
8 cfu - I semester
Laurea in Architettura U.E. (II year)
The course offers a first introduction to the basic concepts of structural analysis. Topics coverage ranges from basic concepts of kinematics and dynamics to internal stresses in statically determined beams, basics of constitutive laws of materials, internal stresses and displacements in statically indeterminate elastic beams, primitive notions about structural design
Classes are based on the textbook Meccanica delle Strutture.
Detailed information about the classes is availble (in italian) at teaching website
9 cfu - II semester
Laurea in Design (II year)
The course is articulated in two parts. The first part offers an introduction to the basic concepts of mechanics focused to the study of the structural aspects of industrial objects. In the second one students are engaged in the design, redesign or optimization of an industrial object taking as basic inspiration the fulfilment of mechanical requisites (weigth reduction, stability, strength, stiffness). Simulations of the mechanical behavior by means of finite element codes are used as main tool of design
Detailed information about the classes is available (in italian) at the teaching website
Since 2019-20 prof. Bernardini is teaching at the Master di II livello in ADMSI (Analisi, Diagnostica e Monitoraggio di Strutture e Infrastrutture)
In the period 2014-2017 taught a course Introduction to the Thermomechanics of Solids for the Ph. D. students of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering at the Unviersity of Rome Sapienza
