MUltiscale Modelling and SImulation of Complex materials for production of Sustainable composites (MUSICS)
Focus is placed on advanced and sustainable materials — including polymers, composites, bio- and multi-materials, 2D and intelligent materials — with attention to life-cycle enhancement, recycling, and resource control. Theoretical developments concern materials with complex internal structures, exhibiting non-linear behaviours (damage, plasticity, fracture) and requiring multiscale modelling and advanced numerical methods for accurate simulation and design.
Non-classical/non-local continuous constitutive models for ‘complex materials’
Advanced computational tools for structural analysis and optimisation of new materials
Design and development of next-generation natural fibre composite materials
Design and development of next-generation recycled composite materials
