Short Curriculum Vitae

C. Boccaletti was born in Bologna (Italy) in 1967. She received the Laurea degree in Mechanical Engineering and the PhD degree in Energetics from Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) in 1991 and 1995, respectively. In 1998 she was the recipient of the National Award “Energy and Environment” for her PhD thesis.

She has carried out an independent professional activity in several industrial and research fields for 7 years. In 1998 she was engaged as assistant professor at the Roma Tre University (Italy), and in 2002 moved to the Sapienza University of Rome. Since 2020 is Associate Professor and in 2023 she obtained the Habilitation Degree of Full Professor. She is presently responsible of various courses for MSc students of Electrical and Energetic Engineering, held in both Italian and English.

Dr. Boccaletti has been a member of ASME until 2004 and is member of the Italian Engineering Board since 1992 (Senior Member since 2002) and of IEEE since 2004 (Senior Member since 2014, Member-at-large of IAS Executive Board 2016-2017, IAS Treasurer 2017-2020, IAS Meetings Department Chair 2021-2024, Nominations Standing Committee chair of IEEE Smart Cities Technical Community). She acts as a reviewer for the most prestigious journals of the relevant scientific sector, is member of international editorial and scientific boards/committees, independent expert evaluator for the European Commission since 2001, for South African, Latvian , Cyprus and Romanian Governments, for the Paris region (France), for the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research and for several national institutions for regional development. Her current research interests include design, analysis and optimization of electrical machines, condition monitoring and diagnostics of electrical machines and drives, and systems based on renewable energies. She is co-author of two books and author of more than 130 published papers in technical journals and conference proceedings.
