I am a Ph.D. student in Data Science under the supervision of Prof. Fabrizio Silvestri, and also in collaboration with the Institute of Information Science and Technologies "Alessandro Faedo", the largest CNR Institute for Computer Science.
I am pursuing my Ph.D. at DIAG (Dipartimento di Ingegneria Informatica, Automatica e Gestionale).
I am particularly interested in developing Graph Foundation Models and advancing the role of GNNs in Retrieval-Augmented Generation, especially GraphRAG. My work explores how graph structure can be integrated more effectively into retrieval and generation systems while keeping models expressive, interpretable, and computationally efficient.
More broadly, I believe that graphs provide a natural representation for many real-world systems and that progress in graph learning can create meaningful advances across scientific and technological fields. My research has also covered graph-based information retrieval, graph–text alignment, biological systems, and vision-language models.
With a strong engineering background, I aim to bridge theory and practice by transforming methodological advances into robust models that address real-world problems. A recurring goal of my work is to improve our understanding of neural networks and reduce their black-box nature without sacrificing performance or scalability.
I have an M.Sc. degree in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (LM-32) and a B.Sc. degree in Management Engineering (L-8), both achieved at Sapienza University of Rome.
