Satheesh/Research

My main focus is on the fundamental laws of nature with a special emphasis on gravity. This means I think about General Relativity and Quantum Field Theories a lot. I try my best to keep up with many ongoing experiments in Astrophysics, Cosmology, and High Energy Physics. I often read papers from Mathematics, Condensed Matter Physics, and Atomic, Molecular and Optics. Currently, I am interested in the following topics.

  • Singularities, black holes, and gravitational collapse

  • Black hole entropy and Hawking radiation

  • Scattering amplitudes in gravity and gauge theories

  • Non-perturbative approach to quantum field theory

  • Fundamental symmetries of nature and their interconnection

  • Very early universe, trans-Planckian cosmology, and inflation

  • Heat kernel techniques in general relativity, quantum field theory, and quantum gravity
