Welcome to my website!
I am Assistant Professor of Economics (RTT) at the Universitas Mercatorum of Rome.
I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of Pavia and a master degree in Economics and Social Sciences from the University of Sydney.
I am Research Fellow of the Global Labor Organization (GLO), and I collaborate with SIEP - Società Italiana di Economia Pubblica - as managing and social media editor.
I am also a member of the Scientific Committee fot the Journal of Public Finance and Public Choice.
I obtained the Italian Scientific qualification (ASN) as Associate Professor in Economic History (disciplinary field 13/C1) since February 2025 and Public Economics (disciplinary field 13/A3) since March 2025.
Before joining Universitas Mercatorum, I was Assistant Professor (RTDA) of Economics of Milan "La Statale", and before post-doctoral researcher at the University of Pavia (2018-2019) and at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (2012-2018).
My research interests are in the fields of Economic History, Growth and Development, Gender Economics, and Political Economy. In particular, I am interested in the interaction between long-run development and institutions in a historical perspective with a special focus on gender issues: I study the relationship between education and fertility, the role of gender equality in shaping past and current socioeconomic phenomena, the political and socioeconomic factors that affect preferences and gender gaps in the economic and political domains.
