is a full professor at the Dept. of Information Engineering, University of Pisa, Italy. She has co-authored 7 books and has contributed to more than 250 papers in international journals and conferences. She is also co-editor of 2 books. She was involved and had roles of responsibility in several national and international research projects and scientific events. Her research interests include computational intelligence, with a particular emphasis on fuzzy systems, neural networks, and evolutionary computation, and their applications to pattern classification, risk analysis and management, diagnosis, forecasting, and multicriteria decision making.
is an assistant professor at the University of Pisa, Italy, in the Dept. of Information Engineering. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pisa, with a master's degree in computer engineering (enterprise curriculum), and earned a Ph.D. in information engineering from the University of Pisa. His research interests are in artificial intelligence (AI), in particular evolutionary computation and deep learning, with applications to decision support and multi-objective optimization for the smart industry. He is currently working towards AI-based solutions to get more efficient and sustainable industrial processes, and improve the occupational safety and health of workers.
is an assistant professor at the Dept. of Civil and Industrial Engineering, University of Pisa, Italy. She received the Ph.D. in industrial engineering (mechanical engineering curriculum) with honors in 2018 and the master’s degree in management engineering with top marks in 2014 from the University of Pisa. Her research interests include assembly/disassembly and material removal processes, development of tools based on AI for assembly/disassembly optimization problems (also with cooperative robots), augmented reality solutions to support assembly tasks, laser machining, and cryogenic drilling of composite materials. In 2015, she won the “best paper award” at the 48th CIRP Conference on Manufacturing Systems.
is a full professor at the Dept. of Civil and Industrial Engineering at the University of Pisa, Italy. He has authored more than 150 papers in national/international conferences and journals. His interests include machining process monitoring, machining of non-conventional materials, laser machining, augmented reality, and assembly processes. From 2003, he has been a member of the Editorial Committee of the International Institution for Production Engineering Research (CIRP). He had the offices of technical secretary of the CIRP scientific committee on “Assembly”, and the working groups on Unification and Application of Artificial Intelligence Techniques in Production Engineering. He co-founded the Italian Association of Production Engineering (AITEM).
