This hands-on field trip will take 4th grade students back to 1840s Monterey; an era when California was a territory of Mexico and Monterey was the capitol city of Alta California. The program begins at 9:30 at the Pacific House Museum. Students will rotate through six hands-on historical activities; rope making, leather working, tortilla cooking, map making, embroidery and games. After a 30 minute lunch break, students will visit the Monterey Custom House, California's oldest government building. After a skit, scavenger hunt, and gift shop time, the program concludes around 1:15.
Fall Conferences will run from November 13th-21st.
The school schedule on conference weeks is altered to a half-day schedule. Students will be released from school at 1:15 during conference weeks. I am looking forward to meeting with each of you to discuss the progress your child has made in 4th grade so far.
Please sign-up on any available time/slot. If none of these times work, please let me know so we can coordinate an alternative time.
Fall Parent-Teacher Conference Sign-Up
Back to School Night will be on Wednesday, August 27th 6:00-6:30pm. Please join us in Room 22 for an overview of what our 4th grade year will entail! This will be an opportunity to get a general insight of what the 4th grade curriculum is, classroom protocols, school protocols on absences, and volunteer process. The opportunity to have a private discussion on how your child is doing will happen at a later date during individual parent-teacher conferences. If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail me.
