We have PE with Rhythm and Moves on Tuesdays. This is in addition to our class PE.
Our music program takes place every Tuesday morning. See the following messages from our music teachers:
Hello band and choir parents,
As we approach our winter showcase, I would like to encourage you to attend the performance and offer encouragement for your child. These kids are learning skills like dedication, the value of work, and discipline, all while learning a new instrument and possibly learning how to read music for the first time, all while only meeting once a week for rehearsals. It will mean a lot for your child to attend the performance and bring other relatives and friends. The winter showcase is meant to be a celebration of our kids’ achievements so far and to showcase to you what they have learned in music class this year. It will be a special time in your kid’s life and hopefully they’ll remember this experience and think of it fondly.
If your child is playing clarinet or saxophone this year, they will need to provide their own reeds. Recommended reed brands are Rico, Vandoren, Juno, or Da’darrio and size 2 or 2.5 is the recommended size. These brands will produce the best sound and will lead your child to success. Other brands might not be high enough quality and can lead your child to frustration. Every clarinet or saxophone player must have at least three playable reeds at all times and cannot be played once they are broken. Please consider purchasing a reed guard to protect the reeds against damage! Additionally, an instrument swab is required for clarinets and saxophones. This is how we clean the instrument and prevent potential sickness and instrument damage. A silk swab is recommended.
