Dear 3rd Grade Families,
This week, we will continue with division using word problems and the distributive property. In language arts we will learn about capitalizing titles, proper nouns, and certain parts of sentences. We've seen how organisms depend on their environment for food and safety during our science lessons. We have also had a lot of fun with our art teacher in art class. Our art teacher asked the teachers to email this to parents:
"We read Only One You and started painting rocks to show how unique and wonderful each student is. They added details to make their one-of-a-kind creations shine!"
Here are just a few things to note:
Picture Day: Sept. 23rd
2. Please make sure your child charges their Chromebook each night.

Teachers share information from the school directly with the parents. There are lots of things the Alta Vista Home and School does (programs and events) that do not fall under the teacher’s direct responsibility. For example the Clay program. We are creating this contact list for the purpose for sharing this additional information and to organize the volunteers needed for your child's class.
Please understand this is completely voluntary and contact information collected here won't be shared to any other parents or students without additional consent. Please click this link to add your name to the contact list.
The Home and School Club asked the teachers to send a link to get t-shirt sizes for the students. Please fill out this form with your child's t-shirt size. Thank you to those who have already submitted the information. We wear class t-shirts on some spirit days, Olympic Day, field trips, and other events so it is important your child has a t-shirt.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Yu
