Third Grade Families,
Week of 4/21/25: We had a guest speaker who taught us about the Ohlone way of life. It was great to see all the artifacts that the Ohlone Native Americans used. In language arts, we have started Charlotte's Web. We will also continue to do a lot of CAASPP prep to get ready for the state testing in May. We've been focusing on how details support the point of view in a passage. We are also learning more about capitalization of titles.
For math, we will start perimeter and see how it is different from calculating area. We will also continue practicing our multiplication and division facts. The students are all improving!
Our next project is the Biography Report. Currently, the students are choosing who they want to research. They are also looking for a book on that person. A packet was sent home with your child. Here is the link detailing the requirements of the report just in case you did not see the packet. The culminating activity is the Wax Museum where we invite parents to come and hear the children present. More information on the Wax Museum will be coming at a later time.
