Andrea Campagner is a Postdoc Researcher at the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi Sant’Ambrogio (Milan, Italy). He obtained his PhD in Computer Science in 2023 at the Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication of the University of Milano-Bicocca. His research interests lie at the intersection of uncertainty management, machine learning and human-AI interaction, as well as their applications in medicine and life science. He is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Medical Informatics and Soft Computing journal, member of the Editorial Board of BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making, and has been Program Chair of CD-MAKE 2023 and IJCRS 2023. He organized the special sessions on "Data Perspectivism in Ground Truthing and Artificial Intelligence"and "Machine Learning for Partially Labeled Data" at IPMU 2022, "Multi-perspectivist Data and Learning"at CD-MAKE 2023, and “Rough Sets: Theory, Applications, and Related Tools” at FLINS-ISKE 2024. He has also organized the workshop on "How to Assess Human Reliance on Artificial Intelligence in Hybrid Decision-Making" at HHAI 2023.
Davide Ciucci is full professor at University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy. He received a PhD in 2004 in computer science from the University of Milan and the HdR (habilitation) from the University of Toulouse III in 2013. His research activity is about uncertainty management, both in knowledge representation and machine learning. He is Senior Area Editor of Int. J. of Approximate Reasoning and Associate Editor of Computational and Applied Mathematics. He has been president of the International Rough Set Society (2019/20), Program co-chair of Int. Joint Conf. on Rough Sets (IJCRS), 2015, 2017, 2018, Conference chair Int. Conf. on Scalable Uncertainty Management (SUM), 2018, Conference Chair Inf. Conf. on Information Processing and Management of Uncertainty in Knowledge-Based Systems (IPMU) 2022, Advisory Board Member of IFSA-EUSFLAT 2021.
Sebastien Destercke graduated in 2004 as an engineer from the Faculté Polytechnique de Mons in Belgium. In 2008, he earned a Ph.D. degree in computer science from Université Paul Sabatier, in Toulouse (France). He briefly worked in the French agricultural research center working for international development, before becoming a CNRS researcher in the Heudiasyc Laboratory, in Compiègne. His main research interests are in the field of decision making and uncertainty modeling and treatment (learning, propagation, fusion, independence modeling) with imprecise probabilistic models. He is an area editor of the International Journal of Approximate Reasoning, one of the creators of the WUML events (which was organized as a workshop at ECML for the 2020 edition), and has also organized a workshop on “Preference Handling and Learning” at ECAI 2023.
Luciano Sánchez is a professor at the University of Oviedo. Since 2022, he has been the Director of the TotalEnergies Chair of Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Oviedo. He coordinates the research group "Metrology and Models" and is a founding partner of the group's spin-off, Idalia Intelligent Data Analysis S.L. He was a visiting professor at the University of California in Berkeley (1995) and at General Electric (GE Global Research, Schenectady, New York, 1996). His research includes the theoretical study of algorithms for mathematical modeling of systems and intelligent data analysis, as well as their application to industrial modeling, signal processing, and dimensional metrology, with a special interest in low-quality data. He received the Outstanding Paper Award at the FUZZ-IEEE 2013 congress (Hyderabad, India) and the 1st Engineering Innovation Preis from Rolls-Royce (Germany) in 2013.
