Short Bio
I earned my PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics in 2005 with a thesis in monetary theory. After the PhD, I moved on to a tenure track position at the Economics Department of the University of Madrid, Carlos III, where I obtained tenure as associate professor in 2011. Subsequently, having obtained the Montalcini fellowship for young researchers from the Italian government, I moved back to Italy, joining the Department of Economics and Finance at the University of Rome, Tor Vergata, where I became full professor in 2015. In 2021, I moved to the Department of Economics, Management and Statistics of the University of Milan-Bicocca, where I served as head of department for three years starting in the fall of 2022. In the fall of 2025, I have been appointed vice-rector for research of the University of Milan-Bicocca. My main research interests are in monetary theory. My research has been published in leading international economic journals such as Theoretical Economics, The Journal of Economic Theory, The International Economic Review, The Journal of Money, Credit and Banking. I teach undergraduate and graduate level macro. I have been the recipient of several research grants both in Italy and abroad. CV
