The offices of the astrophysics group are located at the second floor of the building. The meeting will be hosted in lecture rooms located at ground floor and -1 floor.

U2-01 (ground floor, next to the entrance) on Wednesday 13th
U2-06 (floor -1) on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th.
The parallel sessions will be organized in nearby rooms:
U2-04 and U2-05 for Thursday 14th and Friday 15th (ground floor)

Internet connection is available on the campus through eduroam, no other option is available.
Getting in Milan and at Milano-Bicocca
Within Milan, the University of Milano-Bicocca is accessible with the metro line M5 (purple line) and trains stopping at the Milano Greco-Pirelli station. Tramline 7 also crosses the campus and calls at stop Precotto on the metro red line (M1). One way ticket within the Milan urban area costs 2.2€ and lasts 90 minutes (valid both for metro/buses and trains). More info (including maps) can be found at this link
Travelling by train
Most national and international trains call either at Milano Centrale (the main central station) or Milano Garibaldi stations. From those stations you can use the metro lines to reach the conference venue.

Travelling by plane
The city of Milan is connected with three main airport: Linate (LIN, the closest), Malpensa (the largest, MPX) and Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY).
You can reach Milan in several ways:
By buses: there are several companies (e.g. https://www.malpensashuttle.it/) covering the transfer from airports (LIN,MPX,BGY) to Milano Centrale train station. Estimated fair: ~10€ (one way).
By train and metro: Malpensa express connects every ~30 min the central station with the Malpensa airport (~13€ one way). Linate airport is now connected with the M4 metro line (~2€).
By taxi: From MPX and BGY airports to the University of Milano-Bicocca is approximately 1 hour by car (traffic dependent). Estimated taxi fair: ~100€. From LIN the travel time is around 30 minutes with an estimated taxi fair of ~50€. From Milan central station the travel time is ~15 minutes for a cost of ~15-20€.
Travelling by car
Milan has restricted zones and there are charges for some vehicles to drive through the city centre (Area C). The University of Milano-Bicocca is located in the north part of Milan in the Area B, the area limits the circulation of the most polluting vehicles. You can check whether your vehicle is subject to limitation here

Other places where to stay are:
Garibaldi-Isola area: this is a very lively and nice area with several accommodations, the purple line (M5) goes all the way through the area;
City center: very nice and well connected (but a bit more expensive). To reach the campus you can use either red line (M1) till Precotto, then you can take tramline 7 towards Piazzale Lagosta (3 stops) or green line (M2) till Garibaldi then purple line (M5) to Bicocca.
Places to eat

You can find several options, from quick sandwiches up to proper restaurants. Estimated cost per meal is ~5-15€.
Conference dinner
Conference dinner will be held at Carlsberg (Via Bastioni di Porta Nuova 9, 20121 Milan), where we will have the chance to taste good pizza!
The restaurant is close to Garibaldi FS metro station (M2 and M5 line). From the University campus M5 is the most direct way to get there.
Things to do in Milan
On and near campus
If you are interested in contemporary art, next to Bicocca campus you can find Hangar-Bicocca, a former industrial site reconverted to an art museum and exhibition space, visit https://pirellihangarbicocca.org/en/ for more details.

Around campus you can also find several places to chill out in the evening having an aperitif.
In Milan
Milan city center is a mix of modern and tradition, packed with art, fashion, history and mouthwatering food, making it one of most visited cities in Italy. Among the places you should visit you can find this non-esaustive list:
Piazza Duomo, with the gothic cathedral
Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle located in the city center
Pinacoteca di Brera, housing one of the main art collections of Renaissance art in Italy with over 500 works
Cimitero monumentale, a cemetery with an extraordinary collection of sculptures
Museo della Scienza e della Tecnologia, the largest museum of science and technology in Italy
Navigli, typical canals of Milan surrounded by many bars and restaurants to experience the nightlife
Parco sempione, one of nicest park of Milan and the perfect place to enjoy a walk or run among flowers and greenery
Outside Milan
Milan is surrounded by many smaller cities worth to visit, like e.g. Como or Pavia. Trains leave regularly from Milan central station.
If you are planning a hike in the mountains you can get a train at the Greco-Pirelli station (the one close to the campus) and head towards the Lecco area where you can find many options, all of them with a gorgeous view on the Como lake.
