The 5th meeting of the Working Group on Sediment Generation (WGSG) took place from 28 to 30 June 2022 at the University of Milan-Bicocca (Italy).

The WGSG (https://www.wgsg.info/) is a network of geoscientists, sedimentologists, geomorphologists, sedimentary petrologists, geochronologists, geochemists, numerical modelling specialists devoted to research on siliciclastic sediment generation, routing systems, depositional environments, and diagenetic processes.

The Group started its activities at the IAS 2009 Meeting in Alghero (Italy) and has organized meetings in Arcavacata di Rende (2010), Göttingen (2014), Leuven (2016), and Dublin (2018) promoting integrated research on sediment generation processes, dispersal patterns and accumulation processes, both in recent and “deep” time.
