1. Registration for EREKA is open from 15th February to 14th March 2025. Submission of materials is open until 16th March 2025. Meanwhile, the online judging session will begin on 18th March 2025.
2. Registration Fees:
i. Fee for UniMAP Researchers: RM100.00 (For the first 200 products to register: RM50.00 only)
ii. Participation fee for the Professional Inventor (Local) category (All public and private universities, Colleges, Polytechnics): RM250.00
iii. Participation for the Junior Inventor (Local) category (All types of Secondary Schools in Malaysia): No participation fee required
iv. Participation for the Young Inventor (Local) category (All types of Primary Schools in Malaysia): No participation fee required
v. Participation fee for the Professional Inventor (International) category: USD50.00
vi. Participation fee for the Junior Inventor (International) category: USD35.00
viii. Participation fee for the Young Inventor (International) category: USD20.00
3. All payment must be made to Universiti Malaysia Perlis by online transfer or local order (LO) through Frappehub system
4. Proof of payment : 15th February to 16th March 2025
5. Submission of materials [Invention Poster, video (YouTube URL), and other supporting documents] :15th February to 16th March 2025
TERMS OF REFERENCE
Awards are open only to those participating in EREKA 2025
An invention/innovation must be new unless substantial modifications have been made to it since it was first competed in any other exhibition/competition.
For online participants - An invention/innovation needs to be submitted via an online system that consists of posters (invention/innovation and commercialization) and other supporting documents such as video (YouTube URL), slide presentation, Industrial collaboration letter/MOA/LOI, Patent Filing Document, and so on, that can be used during the judging process.
The inventor/innovator must complete a separate entry form for each invention /innovation per category. No more than one invention/innovation may be submitted on each form.
The participant is recommended to submit a video (YouTube URL) to demonstrate the capability and functionality of the product to assist judges in understanding the product better. The video should be uploaded to YouTube with its link shared with us. Maximum video duration is 5-8 minutes.
The poster for each participant should include the following content:
• Introduction/Abstract
• Problem statement
• Novelty & Inventiveness
• Product Description/picture/data/result and discussion
• Advantages
• Commercialisation
• Others (not limited to these points):
o Publication
o Intellectual Property
o Industry/Business Partner
o SDG Logo
Other Materials
• Participants may include additional materials such as brochures, flyers, newspaper cuttings, business proposals, previous awards, certificates, pictures, patent applications, or other documentation to support their project or exhibition.
7. Professional judges are appointed from selected industries and academia.
8. The decisions of the judges are final. Any complaint will not be entertained.
