Firstly, we heartly recommend to avoid late arrival to the airport, as long as the last bus from Foggia to Vieste leaves at 17:45. If you arrive later, you’ll need a private shuttle (to be pre-booked), which might be expensive or you’ll have to rent a car. Similarly, better not to book a return flight leaving early in the morning, due to some time needed to reach the airport.
BUS FROM FOGGIA AND BARI TO VIESTE
Best way to reach Vieste is landing in Foggia Airport Gino Lisa (with connections from Turin and Milan by aeroitalia.com).
Second best is Bari Airport.
Both Foggia and Bari airports are served by shuttle bus heading straight to Vieste at the cost of about 20€ from Bari and about 10€ from Foggia. Tickets are available on board. The schedule of the shuttle bus from the airports to Vieste (and back) is generally released in May every year, being a seasonal service. From Foggia to Vieste there is also a regular bus from Foggia train station scheduled from the train station and operated by Cotrap.: https://biglietteria.cotrap.it/
In case of no public transportation is available, please write your arrival day and time to Prof Mafrolla (elisabetta.mafrolla@unifg.it), who'll arrange private transportation for those who need it, sharing the expected price.
What makes the Erasmus BIP Accounting for Sustainability truly distinctive is its strong focus on group experience and active participation. Our summer school Accounting for Sustainability was launched in June 2024 with the goal of creating an international space for discussion on sustainability in accounting. We are now in our third edition. Professors Antonio Corvino and Elisabetta Mafrolla annually invite faculty from partner universities—including the University of Seville (Spain), University of Dortmund (Germany), University of Muenster (Germany), Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands), Politécnico de Leiria (Portugal), University of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain), University of Agder (Norway), and Gediminas Technical University of Vilnius (Lithuania)—to organize an intensive week of academic and applied activities. Key milestones include the programme’s launch, the consolidation of the international network, and the growing participation of students from across Europe.
The main goal of the Erasmus BIP Accounting for Sustainability is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand and apply sustainability principles within accounting and business practices. The programme aims to foster critical thinking on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, while developing practical competencies through interactive and applied learning. By participating, students gain not only academic insights but also hands-on experience, intercultural collaboration, and valuable networking opportunities that support their future careers as accountants, auditors, and managers in a sustainability-driven context.
