By plane
The easiest way to reach Ferrara is to fly to Bologna “Guglielmo Marconi” Airport. From the airport, you can either take the direct “Bus & Fly Ferrara” shuttle, which arrives in the city centre (stop: Estense Castle - Viale Cavour Gardens), or take the Marconi Express train to Bologna Centrale railway station and then a regional train to Ferrara.
From Ferrara train station, you can reach the city centre with a 20-minute walk or by taking one of the local bus lines 6, 9, or 11. Bus tickets can be purchased directly on board, by conctaless credit card payment.
By train
Ferrara’s train station is well connected with direct services from several cities in Italy, especially from Bologna.
