I am an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil.

I received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Mauá School of Engineering, Brazil, in 1987, an M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Campinas in 1994, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), Blacksburg, VA, USA.

Before joining the faculty at UNICAMP, I worked at the CPqD Foundation in Campinas, Brazil, where I participated in several research projects in the field of communications, including satellite and wireless systems. From November 1991 to August 1992, I was a visiting researcher at the Centro Studi e Laboratori Telecomunicazioni in Turin, Italy.
Before joining the faculty at UNICAMP, I worked at the CPqD Foundation in Campinas, Brazil, where I participated in several research projects in the field of communications, including satellite and wireless systems. From November 1991 to August 1992, I was a visiting researcher at the Centro Studi e Laboratori Telecomunicazioni in Turin, Italy.
My research interests include wireless network modeling, interference modeling, stochastic geometry, task-oriented communications, and semantic communications.
