She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from UNICAMP in 1994, graduating first in her class, and completed a direct PhD at the same institution in 2006. Since 2009, she has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials and Bioprocess Engineering at UNICAMP, with research experience at the University of Victoria (Canada), École Polytechnique (France), NIST (USA), and the University of Stuttgart (Germany), as well as industrial experience in the food, specialty chemicals, and biotechnology sectors. Her research focuses on nanobiotechnology for the delivery of biopharmaceuticals, bioactives, and nucleic acid vaccines using liposomes and biopolymer-based particles, the development of microgels for drug and cell delivery, and microfluidic approaches for synthesizing micro- and nanostructures, drug screening, and organ-on-a-chip applications.
