Sanja Matić-Skoko is a senior scientist at Laboratory of Ichthyology and Coastal Fisheries and head of Scientific Board in the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, Split, Croatia. Her research is focused in fish biology and ecology and small-scale fisheries in the Adriatic Sea with special interest in commercially important species and application of new technologies and concepts in support of age determination and stock discrimination, ecology of coastal communities and biological conservation. She is national expert for TW MED GIG. She published over 90 publications on fish biology, marine biodiversity and ecology, and biological and socio-economic dynamics in small-scale fisheries and works as associate editor for 4 international peer-review journals. She is involved as coordinator in several EU research and European Territory Cooperation projects financed under the previous and current programming periods dealing with blue growth and innovation in fisheries, as well in national scientific research projects financed by Croatian Science Foundation and national monitoring.

Fernando C. Gaspar has been teaching in higher education since the 80s, with extensive experience in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation and marketing, particularly circular supply chains and reverse logistics in the Blue Economy. His research lead to the publication of articles and communications in three languages in scientific conferences and journals, all available at www.fernando-gaspar.com. Main research interests are entrepreneurial ecosystems, open innovation strategies, entrepreneurial intentions and the use of data-driven methods in marketing, particularly in new product development for the Blue Growth sectors.

Coordinated the participation in INTERREG MED projects, assumed the technical coordination of INTERREG MED Technopolis and lead the organization of the Scientific Congresses EGGPEL (2012) and CEIPEL (2018).

Simona Cintă Pinzaru is associate professor of Optical Spectroscopy at Babes-Bolyai University (BBU) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She earned her doctoral degree in physics in 1998, at BBU, Cluj-Napoca, jointly coordinated at Bayerische-Julius Maximilians University, Würzburg, Germany. Habilitaion (2018) was focused on translational science and nano-bio-sensing; Research priorities: blue bioeconomy and applied spectroscopy and nanotechnology for sustainable environment and health care. Rigers Bakiu is an Associate Professor at the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries, where he is also the Head of the Aquaculture Research Group from 2014. Rigers Bakiu was graduated on Molecular Biology at the University of Padova (Italy), where he also performed his Master of Science studies on Molecular Biology. Furthermore, at the University of Padova, Rigers Bakiu performed his PhD studies and he obtained the PhD certification on Biosciences. Actually he is the lecturer of the following modules: Introduction on Aquaculture, Aquaculture Engineering, Aquatic Toxicology (introduced by him in the study curricula) and Marine Aquaculture Methods. The research activity is focused on Marine Aquaculture, Applied Biotechnologies on Aquaculture, Artisanal Fisheries Statistics and Studies about the Molecular Toxicology on Aquatic Biological Systems. On April 2017 Rigers Bakiu won the nation price “Most Successful Young Scientist 2016” given to him by the Albanian National Academy of Sciences and actually he is the Head of the Section about Technical and Natural Sciences of the Albanian Young Academy.
