The recent pandemic crisis that has affected the world and significantly Italy, poses questions and challenges about "how" to conceive and understand the relationships between "society, environment and business".
Based on the wide academic tradition on the "role" that Social Accounting & Accountability (SAA) can play in providing "knowledge", "experience" and "tools" to manage societal and environmental issues and its potential to promote an "emancipatory change" (Gray, 2002) the Italian scientific community of CSEAR has decided to start this specific Project in order to provide a contribution to this ongoing debate.
In particular, we intend to provide our contribution by examining the role that the SAA can play in measuring, redefing and rethinking the relationships between business, society and the environment in light of the current ongoing health emergency.
This project aims to stimulate a scientific dialogue and open up opportunities for discussion and engagement within our academic/scientific community to address some of these questions and help to develop possible research areas. The project, inspired by a dialogical approach, will focus on the "aspects" related to the interactions and connections between "SSA" and "Pandemic".
