Welcome to Ms. Thompson's 4th grade class. I am excited to have you here!
Parents: On the Building Community page there is a parent survey where you can let me know how to best communicate with you.
There is also a place where you can sign up to volunteer as a classroom guest.
Students: On the Building Community page there is a Student Survey where you can tell me about yourself and some of your favorite things!
In my classroom I hope to instill a love of reading and making connections through stories of the past to current happenings!

Teaching is My Passion!
In 2025 I graduated with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from University of Northern Iowa.
After many years working as a Registered Nurse in pediatric and surgical departments I heard the call to continue my education so that I could teach children!
Currently, I volunteer as a mentor teacher and lead a monthly cooking class to women recovering from addiction and homelessness at the Women's One Eighty Recovery House.
I have seven grandchildren six years old and under who keep me on my toes!
I have many years of substituting, teaching Sunday School and volunteering with after school programs here in the United States and in Cusco, Peru.

The Resources page has a couple of short videos that support our Global Goal Unit on Zero Hunger.
The Building Community page has a place for parents to sign up to be a class guest as a volunteer, to check out the classroom calendar and I have also made a student and parent survey where you can let me know more about you!
The Social Media page will take you to all the happenings in the Davenport School District.
