The Psi Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education, was established on our campus on August 7, 1923, and we celebrated our centennial last fall! Over many years, our members have raised funds to endow and award seven scholarships totaling more than $10,000 each semester and have developed and led many active outreach and service programs in the community.
Below are the KDP Scholarship descriptions and applications. All Fall 2025 applications are due by Thursday, September 11, 2025 at NOON. Read the directions carefully and double check to make sure you are applying for a scholarship you are eligible for using the correct form. We strongly recommend that you read the scholarship descriptions before beginning the application. Please note that finalists will be interviewed on the dates indicated on the applications. When applying for our scholarships, we strongly advise you to follow this advice regarding how to request professional reference letters.
Our scholarship winners will be announced at the initiation ceremony on Sunday, September 28th, 1PM-2:15PM in the Lang Hall Auditorium.
Three $2000 scholarships, for new initiates only
This $1000 scholarship is for secondary English Teaching majors or elementary or middle level majors who have a concentration or minor in Literacy or Language Arts or a special interest in teaching creative writing are invited to apply. Students in programs other than these who believe they have promise of fulfilling the purpose of the scholarship may also apply.
