You are invited to submit your abstract to the 2nd International English Convention & Tech Expo: Innovating English Language Teaching, 1st-3rd of March 2023 in Milagro, Ecuador. Please send your abstract by January 15th, 2023, it will be revised and approved by the Scientific Committee. Once your presentation is accepted you will receive an acceptance letter to start preparing your material.
You can find some guidelines and suggested backgrounds for your presentation in the Presentation Guidelines Section of this page. You are required to send your powerpoint and any additional request you will need during your presentation by February 19th. All accepted abstracts will be published in the event proceeding and assigned an ISBN number.
Deadlines for the March 2023 English Convention
Abstract Submission: 15 January
For presentations or workshops, you will need to complete an online form providing the following information:
1. Personal & Contact Information: Provide your names and last names, contact email, contact phone, and affiliation (the educational institution or organization you work). Please be sure your name and affiliation are written correctly since those will be published in the event proceedings.
2. Short Biography (50 words): We suggest you to include information of your education, work experience, professional highlights, teaching and/or research interests, among other academic information you consider relevant.
3. Strand and Focus: Choose the strand that is most suitable for your presentation, the focus of your presentation. A workshop may include more interaction with the participants and you may share the practical application of any didactic and/or methodological resource or strategy you have hardly use during your teaching experience. You may share the theoretical foundation and show the practical application. A short presentation will allow you to share with the attendees the partial or full results you have obtained in a published/unpublished research you have conducted.
4. Modality: The event will be held in both modalities (in-person and virtual). If you decide to present virtually, your presentation will take place on March 1st through the video conference tool Zoom. If you decide to present in-person, your presentation will take place on March 2nd in one of the auditoriums at Universidad Estatal de Milagro in Milagro, Ecuador.
5. Title (10 - 15 words): Be sure your title highly represents the key concepts in your presentation. Be clear and direct. Avoid too much scientific words, acronyms and specific/unnecessary details.
6. Abstract (200 - 300 words): Be sure to be clear and direct. You abstract may include a couple of ideas for introduction, explain the methodology of your research (research design, participants, site and sample, instruments, analysis procedures), your most relevant results, and a couple of ideas of your conclusions and/or discussion. If you decide to present a workshop, you may exclude the methodology and include the theoretical foundation of the strategies, your experience, results you have obtained, and recommendations for implementation in different contexts.
7. References: Include at least one reference which supports your presentation. Be sure to use APA 7th edition.
8. Additional authors: Include the information of any additional author/colleagues who will be presenting with you.
