Week 6: Basics of Color Theory.
Homework:
Please spend some time creating a color palette for use in your resume design, as well as your final project (portfolio website). You do not need to upload your palette into the folder, but keep it in a safe space for later use.
Please also try to log into your ePortfolio website. If you are unable to, please email me to let me know. If you have never used an ePortfolio at UNE, check your JUNK folder for an email from Michael Cripps. If you don't see an email, please let me know! The goal is to make sure you are all able to log into your site.
Week 7: The Design Process
Homework:
Please review the presentation below for your homework assignment. Make sure to show your process for how you landed on which icons to represent, as well as what imagery/visuals you chose to represent in your city poster. You can pick any city.
Week 8: Working within Brand Guidelines
Homework:
Please review the UNE brand guidelines, and create 6 separate logos for each of the schools within the College of Arts and Sciences. Have a look at this week's presentation for more details.
Week 9: Working on Creative Teams
Homework:
Your team must finalize the 2-3 concepts of your 6 separate logos for the UNE Colleges of Arts & Sciences, and get them ready to present to the entire class for next class, as part of your midterm. Your team will have until 10/30 to revise and finalize your designs based on the feedback you receive from the class.
Week 10: Midterms (in-class critique)
Week 11: Working on Your Personal Brand
Homework:
Complete your resume layout design and drop it into the class folder for Week 11.
In Illustrator, on a 1920x1080px artboard, create a general mood board for your final portfolio website - include your color palette from earlier in the classwork.
Upload them to the class folder for Week 11.
Week 12: Introduction to Web Design
Homework:
Finish your Adobe XD wireframes for the imaginary sushi restaurant from class. Upload those wireframes, either in AdobeXd or as a PDF to the class folder for Week 12.
Begin working on a wireframe for your personal portfolio website, and think through what content you may put onto the site. You do not have to post your personal portfolio wireframe in the class folder, this will just give you a head start for your final project.
It will probably help you to start now - next week, we will be doing HTML/CSS, the following week is Thanksgiving so no class, and the week after, we will be jumping right into your final portfolio projects. :)
Week 13: HTML/CSS
Notes:
I uploaded the code we used in class, and some tutorials at the end of the class PDF, to help you guys with the homework.
Homework:
Attempt to code the layout in the PDF with your own text, images, and colors. Use the tutorial on how to find images and remember your width and height properties to keep them even. Place your HTML and CSS files into the folder for Week 13.
Put your files in the sub-folder with your name on it.
*Note: Homework is due Tuesday, 11/30, since next week, we don't have class due to Thanksgiving.
