Investing in Our Future: Referendum Success Ensures Essential School Upgrades for Underwood Community Schools
On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, voters in the Underwood Community School District considered a one-question bond referendum in the amount of $12,520,000. Following the vote, the unofficial election results are 1488 YES (61.7%) and 922 NO (38.3%).
Superintendent Andy Irwin expressed his gratitude to the community for their support:
“We are incredibly grateful to our community for their support of this referendum. The approval of the bond allows us to make essential improvements to our facilities, including enhancing accessibility, upgrading HVAC systems, and creating a safer, more secure environment for our students. With this investment, we’re strengthening our commitment to providing a high-quality education and ensuring that our schools are modern, inclusive, and prepared for the future.”
Next steps include continued design and engineering work with our project partner SitelogIQ.
The district will continue to keep the community informed on the progress of current and future facility projects.
