Students have a decision about where to register to vote!
You have a right to vote at the address you consider the place you live, whether that is your family's home or where you attend school. You should update your registration anytime this location changes.
You may only be registered to vote in ONE location.
Off-campus students or students registering to vote at their home (family's) address do not need to worry about including a mailing address as long as it matches their residential address.

Some Things to Consider:
The online North Carolina voter registration form asks for your NC driver's license or state ID number. The printable PDF requires a driver's license or state ID number -OR- the last four digits of your Social Security number.
On-campus students may register to vote at their residence hall address, however, they need to include a mailing address for their registration card to be mailed to. This is in accordance with Statute 163-82.7, which states the following:
"(c) Verification of Address by Mail. – If the county board of elections tentatively determines that the applicant is qualified to vote at the address given, then the county board shall send a notice to the applicant, by nonforwardable mail, at the address the applicant provides on the application form. The notice shall state that the county will register the applicant to vote if the Postal Service does not return the notice as undeliverable to the county board. The notice shall also inform the applicant of the precinct and voting place to which the applicant will be assigned if registered.
(d) Approval of Application. – If the Postal Service does not return the notice as undeliverable, the county board shall register the applicant to vote."
Therefore, it is recommended that students that want to register to vote from an on-campus address use the following printable PDF: https://www.ncsbe.gov/registering/how-register/complete-your-registration-mail. When completing this form, be sure to use your residence hall as your residential address, and to include another address at which you receive mail as your mailing address.
Once you have completed your registration form, you can mail it to the Robeson County Board of Elections at P.O. Box 2159, Lumberton, NC 28359.
Out-of-state students may register to vote in North Carolina -OR- in their state. For more information about voting regulations in your state, go to https://www.campusvoteproject.org/state-student-voting-guides.
