Welcome to Yonder Carolina!
As a Minnesota native, I find living in North Carolina to be a true adventure in culture, history, dialect, and, most importantly, climate! I moved to North Carolina in 2013 and promptly traded in my Vikings horns, for Panther Paws.
As a graduate candidate in Public History at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, I have begun focusing my research on the Carolina region. I find local history, history that I see every day, to be the most interesting and engaging to research and share with the public.
With a degree in Art History, I am fortunate enough to work in a highly creative field as an art gallery director and curator. I find the focus on Public History allows me to combine my artistic skillset along with my love of history, research and community engagement.
Yonder Carolina exists as an avenue to publicly house my research collections on the Carolinas and surrounding area. The more projects I research the more the site will grow. It is my goal to share local histories, legends and folklore with the community in a way that is engaging and educational.
