Please join us for an evening of community engagement and networking in the Queen City. Expect two short panels of thought-provoking flash talks and panel discussions with time for networking and conversation after each. The first panel explores the importance of public perceptions of event management and the challenges of managing political conflict in public spaces with a focus on national political conventions. The second panel explores the challenges of managing elections and engaging the public through non-partisan mobilization. These are evolving and important topics in the Queen City. Come out and join the discussion!
Featured guest speakers include Robert Hagemann, City Attorney for the City of Charlotte, Michael Dickerson, Director of Elections, Mecklenburg County and Elizabeth Goodwin, co-Founder We’re the Future, We Vote #WTFweVOTE. They will be joined by faculty from Public Policy, Political Science and Public Administration, Dr. Eric Heberlig, Dr. Suzanne Leland, Dr. Martha Kropf and Dr. Cherie Maestas and Dr. Mary Jo Shepherd.
During breaks between panels, network with faculty, students, and alumni who conduct research on public policy, public administration, and civic engagement at the local, national, and international level.
