I spearheaded an initiative to bring industry connections to UNC Charlotte, organized a networking event working alongside the Career center, the chair of Biological Sciences and a wonderful team of graduate students. This event was highly successful and has led to the request for many more networking opportunities with companies in the Charlotte region.

I have given quite a few talks to elementary school kids over the years, and this one is always my favorite... What is a Scientist?? It is wonderful to expose kids to scientists who have the same interests as they do and come from a variety of cultural backgrounds. 

I have also done Career Day Presentations, and several drop-in science classes (Kinetics, Newton's Laws, Ecology, Diversity in STEM, etc.) 

I do several scholarship workshops each year. For 2023, I teamed up with fellow Truman lab member and 2023 Goldwater Scholar, Ainella Rysbayeva, to give insight into best practices in securing scholarship funding.
