3D printing

The CCI Makerspace does not have a service for purchasing filament or other materials. We do, however, provide free filament for use in small prints. We offer 50g of filament per week to be used for printing. If you are interested in printing larger projects the Makerspace supports the use of personal filament. These filaments must be approved by Makerspace staff before being used in Makerspace machines. The space does not allow personal materials to be stored for extended periods of time. For use in the CCI Makerspace filament must be 1.75mm PLA with no additives and must be from a reputable brand.  Below are a few officially supported brands. Other brands may be used but they must be approved before use and must have an associated Material Data Sheet. To be sure that you can use a roll of filament, please check with a staff member before purchasing.
