The North Carolina Consortium for Self-Aware Machining and Metrology (CSAM) is a collaborative effort between UNC Charlotte, NCSU and Fayetteville State University to generate new knowledge in the application of artificial intelligence to high precision part manufacture and measurement. The consortium was started by Prof. Tony Schmitz in 2018 through a four-year grant from the UNC System Research Opportunities Initiative (ROI).
