Introduction
This page represents the first (home) page of a template web site designed to be imported into a candidates personal web space. The site is introduced as a component of Basic Instructional Technology for Educational Settings (BITES) to address academic objectives. It is intended that this site, once created by the candidate, may be used throughout their remaining academic career and as they transition to the field as in-service teachers.
The candidate website can be a dynamic personalized tool to fulfill potential instructional and non-instructional functions. Examples of appropriate web site use can include:
portfolio for BITES assignments (required)
other EDUC or EDU classes (often required)
major classes (not required but can be extremely handy)
interests (clubs, activities, passions)
in-service (communication tool for students, parents, peers, and administrators) (designing and pre-loading content prior to transitioning)
marketing (self-promotion)
The candidate is responsible for the contents of their respective personal web space as addressed in the Computing and Networking Usage - Students and Web Usage Policy.
Goals of a web page
Clearly communicate intended/appropriate information to the target audience.
(The target audience can be any combination of parents, visitors, colleagues and students.)
Provide effective access to desired resources.
(Effective student access to resources can effectively expand content contact time and variety, both inside and outside the classroom.)
