FTKKI Summer School 2022 is an ocean environment and experiential learning program organized by FTKKI (Fakulti Teknologi Kejuruteraan Kelautan dan Informatik), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu in Terengganu, MALAYSIA. Its purpose is to educate the community that science, mathematics, technology, and marine engineering are more than just theories in the classroom, but can also be seen in nature and everyday life. It is also aimed to introduce Malaysian culture and tradition, particularly in Terengganu, to the community, particularly foreign students.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

  • Connect your knowledge of mathematics and engineering technology to the marine, environment, and local culture.

  • Create learning videos based on your marine and environmental knowledge.

  • Introduce and promote UMT as a leading marine -focused university in the country and internationally respected in the exchange of academic and student information.

  • Introduce the culture and heritage of Terengganu at the international level.

Application Requirement & Eligibility

  1. Registered as a full-time student at home university
  2. Have a good physical condition
  3. Must agree to follow UMT's policies and regulations.
  4. Should show sensitivity and awareness for cultural differences.
  5. Should have great interpersonal skills.
  6. Accepts responsibility for the costs incurred.

COURSE FEE:

USD400/international student.

The fee includes a shared accommodation, scheduled meals, transportation trip cost, a program fee, and pick-up and drop-off services at KLIA airport. The fee does not include a round-trip flight, the COVID-19 test, or the visa application fee.


RM1000/local student.

The fee includes a shared accommodation, scheduled meals, transportation trip cost, and program fees.

Participants who successfully finish this course will receive 2 credit hours. Students will be exposed to a range of environments, including class lecture, field work, water activities, and cultural events.
