The instructor-centered learning environment is one most SI Leaders and students are familiar with. In this model, the instructor or content expert is at the front of the room delivering information to those who presumably do not have the information and want to learn it. While this model has its place, the SI model works to engage students with each other around the content to create an active learning environment through the tools outlined in the "SI Formula".
