My husband, Lendall, and I were blessed with two sons and have now been further blessed with two beautiful daughters and an incredible grandson. I have a passion for spending time with our family, staying active, glamping, singing, crafting, decorating, baking, enjoying the outdoors, running, and working out.
Originally from Hartville, MO, I have called Lebanon, MO my home for the past 26 years.
With an educational career spanning from 1993 to 2022, I served in various roles within the public school system, including vocal music teacher, third-grade teacher, first-grade teacher, Reading Recovery teacher, middle school literacy specialist, literacy coach, instructional coach, and new teacher specialist.
Retirement from the public school system in 2022 allowed me to embark on new adventures, including remodeling our home, more traveling, embracing my role as "Gigi" to a delightful 1.5-year-old, and a new role as literacy coach for the South Central RPDC. Life has definitely been an exciting and fulfilling journey.
I'm delighted to come alongside each of you this year as we dive into LETRS and The Science of Reading.

My husband, Nick and I moved to Rolla, MO while he was working on his master’s degree at Missouri S&T (it was called University of Missouri, Rolla back then!) We have lived in the area ever since and enjoy all that rural Missouri has to offer, including kayaking, camping, and hiking. Nick and I, along with our son Eli love taking cross country road trips, often leaving for almost a month at a time. Along with those family past times, we have been season ticket holders for The Fox in St. Louis for over 25 years! I also spend my spare time reading, crocheting, and very recently have begun needle felting!
I recently retired from the Salem R80 school district after 27 years in public education. I spent 14 years teaching kindergarten and 13 years in Title Reading and supporting teachers in their literacy instruction. Over the past few years, my passion for supporting our teachers has grown and has now led me to South Central RPDC as a literacy coach. I am a cheerleader by nature and have found a new joy in cheering on teachers and supporting their own journeys into the Science of Reading and LETRS!
I can’t wait to join you on your own literacy journey! Let’s go!!!
